    Description

    - Patron tries to check out an item that he has requested via SIP2.
    - For any reason the loan transaction is cancelled.
    - Another try to check out the item by the same patron is blocked by Aleph.

    Resolution

    Fixed in Aleph 21 rep_change 52:

    rep_change #000052

Description: SIP2 server - When a requested item is loaned via SIP2, the hold request record (Z37) is properly deleted. However, if the loan transaction is cancelled by the self-check machine, the hold request record is not recreated. As a result, the patron who requested the item is unable to borrow it.

Solution: This has been corrected. If the loan transaction for a requested item is cancelled, the hold request is recreated. Note that this solution is based on the existence of hold request history records (Z37H), created only if the tab100 variable "CREATE-Z37H" is set to Y.
