    Description:
I used the SP util to download the Service Pack. After Successful download, I got error when I login.

/exlibris/aleph/def_version: No such file or directory

I found two files (def_aleph.dat and def_version) were missing. After I put this two files back ( got from production) then the error is gone.

Can you explain it? why these two files were deleted by the downloading process?

    Resolution:
I find only one other instance of the

.../def_version: No such file or directory

message -- and that is for Metalib rather than Aleph. The solution in that case was to copy the files over from another server, as you have done. But there is no answer there as to what caused it.
