SRU server - does not get stopped by aleph_shutdown; not in util w/1/1
- Article Type: General
- Product: Aleph
- Product Version: 20
- Relevant for Installation Type: Dedicated-Direct; Direct; Local; Total Care
We have added information to aleph_startup, per rep change 881, to start an sru server when Aleph fully starts up. However, upon full shutdown, the sru_server is not currently being stopped along with the rest of the servers. The following message is seen:
Shutdown did not complete: the following processes are still running
nnnn ........./aleph/exe/yazproxy ......../log/sru_server_nnnn.pid
nnnn ........./aleph/exe/yazproxy ......../log/sru_server_nnnn.pid
It has to be stopped manually. Also, the sru_server does not appear in the util w/1/1 display
Resolution:
An enhancement request was created to have this function added, but, as of version 22, it has not been.
If the sru_server is not being used, these sru_server shutdown message can be ignored. If it is being used, then the two sru_server processes should be killed with the "kill" command.
The SRU server is based on a third party tool - YAZPROXY. Since the server isn't proper ALEPH source, control over the server using the Server Monitor is not supplied.
