Self check - Return during loan

    • Article Type: Q&A

    Question

What should be set in tab100-switch RETURN-DURING-LOAN when return_during_loan = Y is set in tab_sip2.conf?
Are there other settings that are relevant for this functionality?

    Answer

When in tab_sip2.conf return_during_loan = Y is set, the system is checking tab100-switch RETURN-DURING-LOAN to decide if cash for late return should be generated.

If RETURN-DURING-LOAN = 1 is set no cash will be created, if RETURN-DURING-LOAN = 2 is set a cash may be created. When RETURN-DURING-LOAN = 0 is set no return during loan will be performed.

So tab100-switch RETURN-DURING-LOAN should be set to either 1 or 2 as otherwise return_during_loan = Y in tab_sip2.conf will not have any effect.

    Additional Information

tab100-switch RENEW-DURING-LOAN does not influence this functionality.
tab_sip2.conf-switch circ_ok should *NOT* be set to circ_ok = Y when you want to use "return during loan". It should be either set to circ_ok = N or be removed from tab_sip2.conf (in this case the default circ_ok = N will be used).

    tab_sip2.conf-switch return_during_loan is introduced in Aleph 21 (rep_ver #017847).
