    Description:
We are in the process of fine tuning our new Sun server which will be going live with v20 at the end of June.

Our Sysadmin is questioning the recommendation of the "Requirements for Aleph Installation v20" which states on page 9 that the swap file should be: "Twice the amount of RAM or at least 8 GB, whichever is greater".

That would put ours at 32 GB. Can you explain why such a large swap file is required?

    Resolution:
From Ex Libris staff: "This 'twice the amount of RAM' comes from the old Oracle requirements; 16GB is enough."
