    Question

What tablespace should tables/indexes not included in the $aleph_root/tab/file_list.xxx template file be defined in?

In implementing Keyword Search in Headings (Ex Libris Documentation Center > Aleph > Technical Documentation > Version 20.x > System Librarian Information > System Librarian's Giude - Web OPAC, section 23.5), the z01x table and indexes are not listed in $aleph_dev/aleph/tab/file_list.BIB, so util a/17/10/2 (view merged file_list) can't be used to determine table/index placement.

The System Librarian's Guide indicates z01x should be ~ 70% of z01 table.

It seems that larger tables/indexes are assigned to TS4D/X. Should the TS4D/X tablespaces be used for this table/index -- or can TS1D/X be used?

    Answer

It doesn't really matter. Just make sure that whatever tablespace it is added to has sufficient space available -- or, if the datafiles are defined as autoextensible, make sure that the filesystem they reside in has enough free space.
