    Description:
If I have a list of bib system record numbers or holding record numbers and their new URLs(4500+ records), is there an easier way to update them? Our holding records are in ABC60.

    Resolution:
You could run p_manage_18 (in abc60), specifying:

Procedure to Run -> Update current records in the database

If Updating Current Records -> Append fields to a record

If the records already have an 856 tag and you want to replace it, you would choose "Replace fields within a record".

The lines in the file for input to p_manage_18 would look like this:

    nnnnnnnnn 85640 L $$uhttp://...

<where "nnnnnnnnn" is the HOL record number and "856" is the tag, followed by the 1st and 2nd indicator values>.

Note: It is essential that you specify "Append fields to a record" (or "Replace fields within a record"), or else the entire record could be overrwritten.
