    Description

On a v20 source server, the upgrade_express_2201_2301 Export customer data step -- as seen in the /exlibris/aleph/upgrade_express_2201_2301/logs/log/create_customer_data.log --, stalls at very beginning:

    start : Oracle export using DP . Libraries: xxx00 xxx01 xxx10 xxx40 xxx50 xxx60 at 2016-02-10 15:41

The job started at 15:41, the log was last written to at 15:41, and it's now 21:03.

The process seems to still be hanging:

    > ps -eaf | grep exp

    xxx_user 8184 1 0 Feb10 ? 00:00:00 csh -f /exlibris/aleph/upgrade_express_2201_2301/util/oracle_exp_aleph_libs xxx00 xxx01 xxx10 xxx40 xxx50 xxx60 yes /exlibris/aleph/upgrade_express_2201_2301/logs/log/create_customer_data.log both DP
    xxx_user 8232 8184 0 Feb10 ? 00:00:00 csh -f ./util/oracle_exp_aleph_libs_a xxx00 xxx01 xxx10 xxx40 xxx50 xxx60 yes /exlibris/aleph/upgrade_express_2201_2301/logs/log/create_customer_data.log both DP
    xxx_user 10783 8232 0 Feb10 ? 00:00:00 csh -f util/oracle_expdp_current_lib_ue xxx00 DP

The export seems to have not come further than starting xxx00.

We would expert a log file and evidence of the export file here:

    /exlibris/aleph/upgrade_express_2201_2301/upgrade_express_2201_2301/data/a20_3/xxxxx/*export*

    Resolution

It seems that the Data Pump was lacking certain permissions.   Since this was a relatively small library, we were able to run the export specifying "No" to the question:

Do you want to export using the Oracle Data Pump[Yes]?  No.
