    Question

What happens when loading MARC records using "Generic Vendor Records Loader (file-96)" if there are already identical records from another vendor for the same item with regards to the:

    • ADM record
    • Item record
    • Order record
    • Encumbrance transaction

    Answer

When using p_file_96 for loading data no check is done whether there are duplicates or not, not for the BIB records and not for all the ADM records. In order to check duplicate BIB and HOL records you can use p_file_90 (Advanced Generic Vendor Records Loader). However the system will not check for duplicate items or encumbrances.
