    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Problem Symptoms:
When a patron checks out a book at the self-check machine, the Aleph circulation log records the error message: "user and password do not match the library specified".

    Cause:
System is calling an obsolete error message from alephe/error_eng

    Resolution:
    1. Move ./alephe/error_lng/ to ./alephe/error_eng.old/
    2. Create a new, empty version of ./alephe/error_lng/
    3. Move any edited or custom messages from ./alephe/error_lng.old/ back to ./alephe/error_lng/
    4. Run util x/7 to clear the utf_files
    5. Restart the pc_server using util w/3/3

    Additional Information

This procedure enables the current a-tree version of ./aleph/error_lng/ to be used when a local, customized u-tree/alephe version does not exist.
