Using upgrade kit to go from v18 on solaris to v20 on linux vmware platform

Description:
Can we use the upgrade kit to go from v18 on a solaris box to v20 on a linux vmware platform? The Database will stay where it is.
Resolution:
There are two components to the v20 Upgrade: the AIK (Aleph Installation Kit) and Upgrade Express. Both are independent of the hardware/operating system/unix type being used:
1. The AIK installs an entirely new v20 instance on the target server.
2. Upgrade Express uses tar and the Oracle Data Pump to extract aleph (u-tree) tables from v18 and load them onto the new target (v20) instance.
Or, alternatively, instead of the preceding, you may want to *clone* the v18 Oracle to v20. That should also work -- that is, it is also independent of the application server hardware/operating system/unix type.
Note: If you were changing the *database* server environment, doing a clone might be a bit more iffy.
