V18: Error when loading sequential file p_file_20 - TAB-BOR-ID-VER-NEEDED

The following error is in the log file when a run p_file_20

Error 0504 : Z308-VERIFICATION can not be empty when TAB-BOR-ID-VER-NEEDED is "Y"

Please advise.

Resolution:
The behavior of the PLIF in reference to the verification field is different in version 18:

Until now, empty verification field was always populated with the z308-rec-key. In version 18 and up the empty fields may remain empty is TAB100-DEFAULT-BOR-VERIFY-1/2 and tab_bor_id allow. (see rep_ver #11255)

Column 7 in your tab_bor_id.eng is Y for Barcode- meaning this is mandatory.
You should set tab 100:
DEFAULT-BOR-VERIFY-1=Y
DEFAULT-BOR-VERIFY-2=Y

Then the system would create a default field value, using last-bor-verify-2 counter from z52 (UTIL G/2).

Note that you may also set DEFAULT-BOR-VERIFY-2=K in tab100. With this setting, if the patron record being loaded does not include a barcode, the barcode and password created will be the same value as the Aleph ID.
