Question    
How can it be determined if Alphabetize Long Headings (manage-17) was successful?
Its log doesn't have the messages at the end like other indexing jobs.
 

Answer    
p_manage_17 is a different from other indexing jobs in that it doesn't load records, so there are no "Load completed" or "Commit point reached" messages in the log. 
The following indicates success: 
1. The $data_scratch p_manage_17.cycles file has all "+"s. 
2. grep -i error *manage_17* in $data_scratch shows no errors 
3. in util g/2, the last-long-acc-number = the last-acc-number
