What Service Packs have been applied to my server? Are they cumulative?

How can I tell what service packs / rep_change's have been applied to my server, when they were applied, and what manual changes need to be made to implement them? Are service packs cumulative?

Answer

Each Service Pack is numbered with the highest rep_change included in the package. Service packs are CUMULATIVE - each SP includes all of the rep_changes from the release of the version. The output of the "ver" (version) command includes the current Service Pack level.

To see what Service Packs you have applied and when, do this:

cd $aleph_root
cd ..
cd service_pack
ls -lrt

There's an executable file called "sp.utility" in each Service Pack directory. When you enter "sp.utility", it brings up a menu with choices for looking at the Implementation Notes, uninstalling, etc.

There is also (in the same directory) a file called sp_summary.xls and a file called sp.utility* which is executable.
