    Question

    What is the maximum number of renewals for a loan? It seems to be 8. Can it be increased to 10?

    Answer

    The maximum renewal limit is 09.

    This is related to the fact, that the field in the loan record (Z36-NO-RENEWAL) has only one digit, so the maximum number is 9.

    See also explanation from ./xxx50/tab/tab16 table header:

    ! COL 21. 2; ALPHA_NUM {00-09}; ;
    ! Maximum renewals;
    ! Maximum number of renewals. Although you can enter two digits, the
    ! definable limit is "09". For unlimited renewals, leave
    ! the column blank.;
