When will unprocessed z07h records be processed?

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 18.01

    Description:
We have noticed that sys01.z07h has 1,500+ records in it in both the old and new versions of ALEPH (by running util e/5/3). Is that to be expected given the moving of data/archive log files, etc.? This would affect our ability to see changes made to the database until you guys run util e/5/2, correct?

    Resolution:
The z07h records are produced by the z07h trigger on the z07 field (activated by util a/17/6/1). The sys01 util a/17/6/4 shows that this z07h trigger on the z07 is not active. Thus, no z07h records are currently being created.

Looking at the z07h_sequence fields, I see that these z07h records are from last year (May - July, 2007).

I believe that these z07h's are a remnant of the work Eyal did last year, as described in your 8192-54743 and -55272 SI's.

As noted in KB 8192-10759: "The Z07H records are left in place in case they need to be looked at, reprocessed, etc. But when util e/5/1 is next run, it drops the previous Z07H."

Thus, I think that that these z07h records are obsolete and can be ignored. But if you think that they might not have been processed, there's no harm in doing util e/5/2 some weekend to make the z07h's into z07's (letting them be processed by ue_01).
