    Question

Why is service "Circulation Summary per Patron (cir-37)" running so slow?

    Answer

The service has to read through all available events (Aleph Oracle table z35).
In some systems this table tends to grow very large with several million records slowing down the service.

    Additional Information

You might consider to drop this table at a convenient time (e.g. as part of the end of the year procedures).

Note, that there is no possibility to truncate this table at the moment. You are only able to drop the entire z35 table (Util a/16 Drop Event Table (z35))

An enhancement request to drop all records older than a specific date is scheduled for minor release Aleph 22.1 (June 2015).
