    Question

When a bib record and its items have been withdrawn, it is not retrieved in the OPAC when searching by title, but if one goes to it via a direct link, information about the record *is* displayed. Why does this happen?

    Answer

    * A record can always be searched by its system number, even if it is Withdrawn, Suppressed, etc.

    * Set up the link using some other value, such as the ISBN, then it *will* get the "not found" message when searched by that value.
