    Word set cannot be used in Z39.50 searches due to CCL error

    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 22, 23
    • Relevant for Installation Type: Multi-Tenant Direct, Dedicated-Direct, Local, Total Care

    Description

    When you are searching in a remote Z39.50 database and your query contains a word "set", Aleph GUI client returns the following error message:

    "Z39.50 gate error: Could not map the CCL code to RPN form".

    This is due to internal z39.50 parser behaviour which considers word "set" as reserved.

    Resolution

    Use quotes around the word set. This will enable the z39.50 parser to better understand the query and process it without any error.

    Additional Information

    Example that would return CCL error message:

    wti=king set

    Example that would process query correctly:

    wti=king "set"
