    item-11: "update_cursor1 z103 ... invalid table name"

    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20, 21, 22, 23
    • Relevant for Installation Type: Dedicated-Direct, Direct, Local, Total Care

    Description

In running the item-11 Service the following error occurs for certain items:

      Oracle error: update_cursor1 z103
      ORA-00903: invalid table name

and, in such cases, even though this was the last remaining item for this HOL record, item-11 does *not* delete the HOL record.

    Resolution

This error is caused by the lack of a proper z103 link to the HOL record, which, in turn, makes it impossible to for item-11 to delete the HOL record.

If the z30 has been deleted by item-11 -- as it normally will have been --, the z30_hol_doc_number_x field in the most recent z30h record for this item should be checked.  If it has "000000000", that's the problem.

In such cases, the HOL record(s) will need to be deleted by adding a "DEL Y" field -- either in GUI Cataloging or via the manage-21 batch Service.

You can use the SQL described in item #7 ("To get item records which are not linked to any HOL record") in the article "SQL to locate BIB/HOL recs without items; BIBs without ADM; etc. *MASTER RECORD*" to locate other cases where items have no link to an HOL record.
