    Question

What is the last-similar-acc-num counter (found in util g/2 for bib and authority libraries). Is it mandatory?

    Answer

As described in the manage-26 ("Detect Similar Headings") Help: "The option "Check All Headings" reads only those records whose Z01-ACC-SEQUENCE number is greater than the number recorded in the last-similar-acc-number counter in UTIL G/2."

Since, after running manage-02 the Z01-ACC-SEQUENCE numbers are changed, the last-similar-acc-number should be set to 0, so manage-26, if run, will recheck all the headings.
