Description:
1. Is the "last-z34-sequence" number the maximum number of records in Z34 before the system starts over with a key of 1?
2. Is there a required or recommended maximum for last-z34-sequence?
3. If last-z34-sequence is set to zero (as ours currently is), does this mean that IP statistics logging into Z34 is disabled?
Resolution:
Note: the z34 is no longer used. See article When are z34's written? z34 vs. z69 .
1. No, last-z34-sequence is the record key of the last z34 which the system created.
2. The maximum value for the z34 key (which is 7 bytes) is 9999999. After that it starts over with 00000001.
3. No. Writing to z34 is controlled by the create_statistics setenv. The z34 is not read by any ALEPH programs. The z34 table is defined in the usr00 library.
