    Question

When running manage-07 (Update Short Bibliographic Records) against the xxx60 (Holdings) library, what is the effect of locking of the library (as manage-07 does) upon Primo, the Aleph OPAC, Circulation, and Course Reserves?

    Answer

Primo (OvP), Circulation, and Course Reserves continue to function OK.

When the xxx60 library is locked, staff and OPAC users will be unable to see the info in the xxx60 HOL records.

    Additional Information

If the job is being run at a time when no updating of the xxx60 records is occurring, then the xxx60 ue_01 could be toggled Down with util w/5 and the library unlocked using util c/6.

But if *any* online updating of the records is occurring, the building of the z13_id Oracle index will fail due to duplicates. In many cases, if this happens, the index may later be rebuilt using util a/17/18. (The z13 is the short bib record.)
