Description

Sometimes there are error messages when loading data with data conversion like
missing UTF conversion for CE-6E
new char is 110
new char is 795
What does it mean?

Resolution

This message appears  for pre-combined characters, which can not be displayed on the screen in the present form and therefore require special treatment in conversion (such as h with dot below). When loading into ALEPH, these characters are divided into diactritic characters and basic letters to allow correct display on the screen and not to lose any information. Therefore, these characters are not listed as a combination character in the Unicode table mab_to_unicode and lead to the warning message  in the log. This is not an error message, but merely a hint that a different conversion is done.
