    Problem Symptoms: 
    After adding a "leapfile" parameter to the /etc/ntp.conf file, the following message appears for the configuration: 

    ntpd[32284]: configure: keyword "leapfile" unknown, line ignored 

     

    Cause: 
    The version of ntpd on this server was 4.2.4p8. The server needs to be running ntpd version 4.2.6. 

     

    Resolution: 
    Upgrade ntpd to 4.2.6.
