    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Problem Symptoms:
    * directory oradiag_username: file sqlnet.log contains error "Directory does not exist for read/write ..."
    Example
    /exlibris/aleph/oradiag_aleph/sqlnet.log
    Directory does not exist for read/write [/exlibris/app/oracle/product/11/log] [/exlibris/app/oracle/product/11/log/diag/clients]

    Cause:
    Oracle parameter is set to DIAG_ADR_ENABLED=TRUE

    Resolution:
    The logging is caused by a new diagnostic facility.
    * To avoid these messages the $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/sqlnet.ora file could be changed as follows
    DIAG_ADR_ENABLED=FALSE
    DIAG_DDE_ENABLED=FALSE

    Important note:
    Changes to Oracle configuration should only be applied by certified Oracle DBA and after confirmation by Ex Libris support.
