    p_manage_01: F01: "delete-flag" must be "1" ... Param Initialization Failure

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Description:
We have been experiencing problems with word indexing.
    1. The ABC01 - NEW records cannot be retrieved by author, title, keyword, call number, item record. New records can be retrieved by OCLC number and barcode.
    2. ABC01 p-manage-01 which is setup in the joblist to run every Friday at 11:00 p.m. is showing errors as can be seen in the files in alephe/scratch. (See below.)

Once you can assist us with resolving this error, we can schedule a p-manage-01 to run in ABC01 over the weekend.

    Param Errors Found:
    F01: "delete-flag" must be "1"
    Wrote Z100 record with rec-key: 000000406

    Param Initialization Failure, Exiting !!!

    Resolution:
The job_list entry for the abc01 p_manage_01 is incorrect. You have:

    WF 23:00:00 Y ABC01 p_manage_01 ABC01

    You *should* have, for example:

    WF 23:00:00 Y ABC01 p_manage_01 ABC01,1,000000000,999999999,,7

("7" is the number of processes; this can be anywhere from 1-50.)

I would, however, note that there is *no* need run or advantage to running p_manage_01 on a regular basis.

This is the first paragraph in Section 2 of the "How To Run Index Jobs" document:

In general, you run index jobs because:

    a) You have batch-loaded records (without selecting the “full indexing” option),
    b) You have made table changes and want the fields in existing records to be indexed differently, or
    c) There is a problem with the index which needs to be corrected.
    <end first paragraph in Section 2 >

We suggest that this job_list entry be commented out or deleted.
