p_manage_31 for loading authority records not in Services menu

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 18.01

    Description:
I'm working to set up an authority library on our (v18) development system. It appears to be set up and I am able to connect to it through the GUI from Aleph - Connect to (I choose ABC10). But, when I go to the Services menu - Load Catalog Records submenu, I don't see the service Load Authority Records (manage-31).

In the documentation I see that it is supposed to be available from that menu when connected to the authority library. Are there other tables that need to be edited/updated in order for manage-31 to appear in the services menu?

I've included a screen shot of my GUI screen so you can see what I'm seeing.

    Resolution:
    Checking the distributed v18 a-tree ./pc_b_eng/menu-catalog-aut.xml on our server (il-aleph02 181), I see that p-manage-31 *is* included.

Normally, this would indicate (per the article " Customization of pc_b_eng and error_eng files in version 17-up **MASTER RECORD** " (KB 8192-824) ) that there was an old version of menu-catalog-aut.xml in $alephe_root/pc_b_eng/ on the site's server which is taking precedence, but in this case we found that the $aleph_root/pc_b_eng/menu-catalog-aut.xml actually lacked the p-manage-31 job (-- and others, such as all the p-ret jobs).

I sent the site the current $aleph_root/pc_b_eng/menu-catalog-aut.xml from our v18 server.
