    Description:
    Authorities records that are updated by p_manage_31 are losing the diacritics.

    Is there a problem with version 17 and p_manage_31?

    An example is Benitez, Fernando, 1912-2000. If you look at the record, it came in with the diacritics, but lost it when the record was updated. This is just one example, but it appears that since we moved to version 17, it is not retaining diacritics. We run file-01, and file-02 before running p_manage_31.

    Other examples:
    Calef, Noel, 1907-1968
    Kapralos, Chrestos, 1909-1993

    Resolution:
    We can't see any indication that p_manage_31, in either 15.5 or 17, is doing character conversion. (And, thus, can't explain why this might have been working in 15.5.)

    This means that the file should be run through p_manage_22 prior to input to p_manage_31, that is:

    p_file_01 -> p_file_02 -> p_manage_22 -> p_manage_31

    (Keywords: FAQ p-file-01 file_01 p-file-02 file_02 p-manage-22 manage_22 p-manage-31 manage_31)
