    p_manage_50 and item status creation

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Description:
We are using Manage-50 to create HOL/items for batches of records that have been exported from Aleph, cleaned up by a vendor, and now re-imported. When I initially exported the records from Aleph I included an expand routine (ABC-Z30) so that item information, like item status, would be included in the 852 field added to the BIB. The item status is in 852$f. I've just completed our first test run at re-importing the records, and the item status for the new items is blank even though the item status is still present in the 852$f.

I have included an example screen shot of the manage-50 jobs run and their log files. All this work is taking place on our Test server. I added the ABC-Z30 expand routine, because I wasn't sure if that was the key ingredient, although it didn't seem to do anything.

I looked for any KB or literature concerning manage-50, but I didn't get much. The only thing of interest (I think) was KB 11383. I'm not entirely sure where this fits in though.

Can you please take a look and advise us on how best to add more item information from the 852 field in the BIB to the z30 item records?

    Resolution:
I may be missing something, but, looking on the Test server, I don't see where the 852 $$f is being mapped to the z30_item_status. It seems to me that you need a line like this is the ./abc01/tab/import/tab_hol_item_create:

    Z30-ITEM-STATUS f N

[From site:] This worked for us....
