I have been trying to delete the OWN fields from our bib records without success. I have used p_ret_01 to retrieve all records with OWN fields; then ran p_manage_21 job deleting the OWN field from retrieved catalog records.
I keep repeating the p_ret_01 and p_manage-21, but always get the same result: a file size of 238899 displaying the results of a p_manage_21 job I did last month – and the OWN fields still appear in the records.
Each of the p_manage_21 logs has an error like this:
Error: Can not open input file: /exlibris/aleph/u17_1/alephe/scratch/globalown
1 END READING AT 16:42:25
I/O error : file 'TP1'
error code: 4/8 (ANS85), pc=0, call=1, seg=0
148 Wrong open mode or access mode for write
The file produced by p_ret_01 is "GlobalOwn" while the file which p_manage_21 is looking for is "globalown". If the output from p_ret_01 is to be used as input to other jobs, it shouldn't have any uppercase characters.
KB 16384-5906 describes a rep_change which prevents p_manage_21 from running if it fails to find the input file.
