    Description:
Question for the Circulation Module and running the Ret-adm-01 service under the GUI Circ Services\Items\General Retrieval Form (ret-adm-01):

Can you explain what the Year Filtering (Item Year) is going after when pulling by that criteria?

    Resolution:
We see the following in ./butil/b_ret_adm_01_filter.cbl:

    WHEN "YEAR"
    ...
    IF P-FILTER (J) NOT = SPACES AND
    Z30-CHRONOLOGICAL-I = P-FILTER (J) (1: 5)

Thus, the "YEAR" filter is looking at the Z30-CHRONOLOGICAL-I field. As such, it applies only to items (primarily ISSUE items) which have the Z30-CHRONOLOGICAL-I field populated.
