- Article Type: General
- Product: Aleph
- Product Version: 16.02
Description:
At around 13 (EST) this afternoon, we got reports that aleph Web Catalog and pc_server were not responding to users' initiation. Rebouncing the servers fixed the problem.
In the pc_server log file, we found the following error message:
SERVICE : C0138
MODULE : Common Services
DESCRIPTION: Add/Modify/Delete/Get/Bind/Discard/Correct Item
ACTION : GET
PROGRAM : pc_com_c0138
alloc error: io_buf_gen : size : 5002"
And in the www_server log:
Load error : file 'www_x_xml_translate'
error code: 105, pc=0, call=159, seg=0
105 Memory allocation error"
Resolution:
From site: the Big Brother monitoring system has the following alert message on the system around the same time when the problem happened:
"red Mon Dec 12 22:12:51 EST 2005 Urgent message file problems reported
&red /var/log/syslog (scanned at Mon Dec 12 22:07:51 EST 2005)
Dec 12 22:05:53 aleph-web2 genunix: [ID 470503 kern.warning] WARNING: Sorry, no swap space to grow stack for pid 6253 (httpd)"
We have planned to add 4 GB of swap space to see if that will help fix the problem.
