sdi-01: adding call number to bor-sdi-00 form

Description

We would like to add the call number to the bor-sdi-00 form (used by the sdi-01 Service).  Can this be done?

Resolution

The b_sdi_01_a program is using the edit_doc #037 to construct the "Description" field which we see on the notice. 

The fields included in the 037 edit_doc format are those in the 037 lines in the xxx01/tab/edit_doc.eng. In the distributed usm01 edit_doc.eng they are:

The numbers in column 4 are edit_paragraph.eng numbers. Each of these, in turn, corresponds to particular edit_field.eng entries -- which represent individual fields. (This structure is described in the "How To Change Bib Info Displays" document -- see attached.)  

Because the call number is not included in any of the currently-specified edit_paragraph values shown above, you need to do two things: 

1. Add the following line to the xxx01/tab/tab_expand: 

E-DOC-037  expand_doc_bib_loc_usm 

2. Change the 037 lines in the xxx01/tab/edit_doc.eng to these: 

037 System number^  ##  ##          001

037                                 012 
037                                 004 

[the 012 has the LOC + 1##/245/260/300] [the LOC field is the call number]
