    Description:
I'm trying to free up some room on our /exlibris disk. Using util x to try and clear the $data_print of ABC50 in prod, I got the "Too many words from" message shown below. I also received this message trying to clear the $alephe_scratch.

Enter number of days back to retain [1]: 10
    ...
    ABC50

Working... Looking for files older than 2007-10-23

Number of files to be deleted: 3319

    Working... Cleaning
    Too many words from ``

    Enter to continue

    Resolution:
As described in KB 6576, the "Too many words from" message indicates that you are trying to delete too many / too big of files. You need to submit the util x with a smaller "number of days to retain". I found that "20" worked:

Enter number of days back to retain [1]: 20
    --------------------------------------------------------------
    Load: /exlibris/aleph/u18_1/alephe/tab/tab100
    --------------------------------------------------------------
    Load: /exlibris/aleph/u18_1/nov50/tab/tab100

After that successful run, I was able to do a successful run with "10" as the "number of days back to retain":

Enter number of days back to retain [1]: 10

    Load: /exlibris/aleph/u18_1/alephe/tab/tab100
