z36_letter_date not updated by Courtesy Notice job

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20, 21, 22, 23

    Description:
On 09/05, we sent over 1150 courtesy notices out to faculty members on campus. However, in counting the number of z36 and/or z36h records which have a letter_date of '20070905', we only find nowhere near that number of records. Do courtesy notices not update the letter_date value? Or do we have something set improperly which results in this information not being updated?

Is there any other table which might have information about these notices which we can use to review, through SQL, who all was sent a notice on that day?

    Resolution:
The p_cir_10 Courtesy Notice job does not update the z36_letter_date. This field is reserved for recall, overdue, and lost notices.

There is no indication on the z36 (or z36h) record that a courtesy notice was sent.  The only record of courtesy notices being sent is found in the z309 (Circ Logger) table:  z309_action type 15 is "Courtesy letter created".

Also, the abc50 $data_scratch/cir_10_2.scr file has the item numbers; and the $data_scratch/cir_10_3.scr and $data_print/faccour090507 files have the complete notices (in xml).
