It is currently not possible to obtain Analytic bibliographic or holdings information if no item record exists.

    status: open
    priority: high
    subject area: physical items
    resource management

    Use Case:

Local practices can cause institutions to have duplicate bibliographic records and/or holding records but only have items attached to one record.

There are also migration issues in which institutions may have had item records migrate onto holdings.

Many institutions also have bib records with only holdings records attached (common practice for serials).

It is impossible to report on bibs or holdings that have no item records attached.
