    Question

Why do I get a "Failed to register a new system job instance" error when I try to run a job in Alma, such as the "Primo Republish Set of Titles" job?

    Answer

The "Failed to register a new system job instance" message appears if you attempt to run a job while another instance of the same job is still running. Only one instance of the job may run at a time.

To confirm that an instance of the job is still processing, go to Admin > Monitor Jobs > Running tab and check whether the job you're trying to run appears in the list of in-progress jobs. If it does not, open the "History" tab to see if the job may have just finished.

Once the previous job has completed, you should be able to run the job without any errors.
