    Call number with wildcards

    Question

    Is there any way to escape * as a wild card? 

    When holding records have asterisks in the call number field.

    Example: 852 8_ |b XXXX |c xxxx |h Z *Architectural

    Search for these records in repository to change them using normalization rules, is problematic with wild card character.

    Answer

    It is not possible to escape * as a wildcard, it is recommended to choose a non-wildcard character for the new (or existence) call number field.
