    Question

Using OCLC Connexion to overlay a brief bibliographic record by pasting an OCLC system number in the 035 field in Alma, saving in Alma and exporting a fuller bibliographic record from OCLC, the record takes a long time for the overlaid record to display when we re-search in Alma. What is the expected time period for the overlaid record to display in Alma?

    Answer

"Save and release" the record in the Metadata Editor, otherwise the record is still locked.

Confirmed workflow: As long as we save and release after pasting a new OCLC number in alma 035 field, before exporting a new record from OCLC to overlay a brief record and then search by MMS ID, the change takes place instantly.
