Electronic collections without a portfolio not found in Advanced Search by Creation Date

Problem Symptoms
After creating a local Electronic Collection, an Advanced Search using Creation Date with a date range that includes the create date of this new collection does not retrieve the collection
Resolution
An Electronic Collection that doesn't have an associated portfolio will not be searchable by Creation Date; add a portfolio and re-execute the search, and the collection will be retrieved
