    Question

How can I load portfolios with multiple or split coverage dates? I have used the Portfolio Loader, but I end up with a single set of coverage dates for each title?

    Answer

Coverage of multiple periods (for example, from 2011 to 2015 plus from 2017 to 2020) is not supported by the Portfolio Loader. If several periods are stated in the Excel file, only the last period is taken. Entering additional coverage periods can be done from the Electronic Portfolio Editor.

So the additional coverage ranges would need to be entered manually. You can highlight the duplicate titles in the spreadsheet:

    1. Select the cells where you want to find duplicate values (Title or ISSN column)
    2. Go to Home > Conditional Formatting > Highlight Cell Rules > Duplicate Values
    3. Choose the formatting to apply to the duplicate values in the selected range and select OK

Then you can use Excel's filtering option to filter the column by color and see only the duplicates. This will make it easier to find the rows that need attention. Generally the first of the two rows is what will need to be added.
