    Question

Adding item barcodes using a scanner (barcode reader) in order to create an Itemized Set causes the Alma screen to freeze (timeout). The screen will just buffer and it is needed to close the window and log back in. This happens after between three to seven items added.

    Answer

It was found that typing the barcode rather than scanning them - resolved the issue.

In such cases, consider adding the items with a text or Excel file.

    Additional Information

Alma documentation details how to create a text or Excel file in the section "Adding Itemized Sets", at:  https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/..._Itemized_Sets
