Persistent search for one barcode returns two titles

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Alma

    Problem Symptoms:
I use the persistent searchbox in order to find a barcode "201018713". The search returns two records but only one of the items has this barcode. The other one does not have and never had this barcode.

    Cause:
Note that the persistent search, even when searching for physical items, will also search in bibliographical fields including the ISBN. In the above example the ISBN (minus leading zero) was identical to the barcode.

    Resolution:
If you want to make sure that only barcodes are returned by the search, you can choose the "Repository Search" from the menu and select "Find Physical Items where Barcode contains 201018713".
