    Question

Why does the Preferred Term Correction job report contain many entries where "before" and "after" have the same value?

    Answer

The PTC job has been enhanced in the past to add the punctuation in the bib heading, even if the bib record is already linked to the preferred term. As a result, the Authorities - Link BIB Headings job marks the heading to be corrected even if the heading is linked to the preferred authority heading.

This is why the report now contains additional entries such as before and after with the same value.

We recommend using the Authority Control Task List to check the authority headings.
