Why does the The Process “Trials - Start and Notify Participants” send email regardless of “Notification Period”?

The Acquisition Guide (Ch. 6, Table 13. Trial Summary Tab Fields) says:
"The number of days before the start of the trial that you want the email invitation sent to trial participants."
The email itself correctly states the dates in: "The trial is set to run from [date] - [date]".

Answer

The process “Trials - Start and Notify Participants” does indeed send an email when it is launched. Alma checks the date range while trying to access the trial link.
