    Question

When making a request for a certain path using the Analytics paths API a message is given that the “Request for an Analytics path with the API returns a non-subordinate path.” Why was this error message given?

    Answer

This error generally indicates that one of the reports requested is in a Community Folder, or that the report is actually a shortcut pointing to a report in a Community Folder. The API can work with the "Alma" folder or your Institutional folder, but not with the Community folder.

Shortcuts can be identified by looking at the properties or by looking at the URL path.
