Which MARC fields are indexed in each searchable index

    • Article Type: Q&A
    • Product: Alma

    Question

How can I know which MARC tags are indexed in which searchable indexes? For example I want to know where bibliographic field 245 sub field c is indexed. Also, for example, where is holding field 852 sub field b indexed?

    Answer

Search the online help for “Search Indexes”. Then click the result “Search Indexes”. You will then get links to tables for
    1. MARC bibliographic fields and corresponding indexes
    2. MARC holding fields and corresponding indexes
    3. Dublin Core Terms and corresponding indexes

Here is how it appears as of 2012 Dec. 12:

The following table displays MARC bibliographic tags and the search indexes to which they are mapped.
Table: MARC Bibliographic Tags and Their Mapped Search Indexes

The following table displays MARC holdings tags and the search indexes to which they are mapped.
Table: MARC Holdings Tags and Their Mapped Search Indexes

The following table displays Dublin Core terms and the search indexes to which they are mapped.
Table: Dublin Core Terms and Their Mapped Search Indexes
