Why isn't an imported record matching an existing record, even though the matching field is identical?

Answer

A serial record cannot be matched with a non-serial record. Make sure the LDR for both records shows the same type of record.

The way to distinguish between serial and non-serial record is according to the 6 and 7 positions in the LDR. The record is recognize as serial when there positions show:
ab
ai
as
For any other value - the record is considered non-serial.
