    Staff Login Report

    Translatable
To view the Staff Login Report, you must have the following role:
    • General System Administrator
The Staff Login Report (Configuration Menu > General > General Configuration > Staff Login Report) displays a list of staff users who have logged into Alma in the last 90 days. The report is sortable by User Name or Last Login date. Users that appear with blank dates have not logged in within the last 3 months. To generate this report, select the option "Excel (current view)" in the Export List option on the Staff Login Report page.
Staff users are users that can login to Alma using any Alma role that enables login. Users with only the following roles are not considered staff users and will be excluded from the report.

    • Patron
    • API Read
    • Trial Participant
    • Instructor
    • Leganto Course Operator
    • Esploro Researcher

By default, this report's data is retained for 90 days, in order to align with data privacy guidelines. You can change the number of days retained in the staff_login_ip_address_retention parameter in the Other Parameters table (Configuration > User Management > General > Other Settings). See Configuring Other Settings (User Management).

The maximum value for the staff_login_ip_address_retention parameter is 90 days. There is no limitation to the minimum value.
You can also export a list of users with their public IP addresses. This allows you to track from which IP address a staff user logged in from, for example, in case the user account was hacked. To get this report, select the option "Excel (all User and IP Address)" in the Export List option on the Staff Login Report page.

If desired, you can prevent the retention of the public IP addresses of users that logged into Alma. Then new entries are not added to the list, and after a week the list empties. To do that, enter 0 (zero) in the staff_login_ip_address_retention parameter in the Other Parameters table (Configuration > User Management > General > Other Settings). Again, the default period is 90 days. You can state any number, including 0 to prevent retention.
